Adventures in Baptism

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe via email and never miss a new post. Thanks for visiting!

Don’t forget, this Sunday we are taking a “field trip” off site and having a water baptism service at the Gladish’s. So far we’ve got 23 people signed up to be baptized! So come on out and support them and to have a great time for fellowship.

Service will start at 6:30. We ask that you bring a food item to share (we’ll provide hot dog and water).

See you Sunday night!

In two weeks…

CANCELLED.

WE WILL HAVE A NORMAL QUEST AT CALVARY.

We are going to experiment with something new. On June 27, we are going to try and do Quest in people’s homes in addition to groups here at the church. That night we are going to be talking about the adventure of community, so we thought, “why not learn about community while doing it?!”.

The plan is to video record that talk ahead of time and make it along with discussion material available to groups. There will still be a group and live talk here at the church, but we’d love for some people to get a little risky and open up there home.

So we are looking for volunteers to host a group at their home for that night from about 6 - 830 pm. We are looking for homes that are within a few miles of the church so people don’t have to drive too far.

If you would like to host a group, just send us an email or leave a comment below and we’ll be in touch. Also, if you would like to host a group, but not necessarily lead it you can do that too, just let us know.

The Adventure of Transformation

Last night, we talked about the internal adventure of transformation.

God wants to not only work through us but in us.

The good works of reaching people (which we learned about last week) must ultimately flow from within a transformed soul.

Prayer Team

Hey want to join the Calvary Assembly of God “twitter prayer team”?

What’s it all about?

This is an experiment in using technology (in this case text messaging) to help us become people who “pray continuously”.

The idea is that you sign up for a twitter account (we’ll explain that in a minute) and follow the cagprayer twitter account . Every time a prayer request is posted to “cagprayer” you will receive the request via text message - then all you do is pray! A simple way to pray for the needs of others throughout the day.

The Adventure of Reaching People

This past Sunday night Pastor Ryan spoke about the Adventure of Mission

Two week ago 16 students and 4 leaders discovered that the Bible was more than just a history book, or stories to read your kids at night. The Bible became reality because we put action to what we have heard and read. Over 50 residents with homes falling apart saw 400 teens and adults prove that God’s Word doesn’t just say He loves them, but that he will show them through His people’s action’s!
